1st Sunday After Pentecost
All Saints Sunday
May 26. Commemoration of the Holy Apostle Carpus, one of the Seventy.
Carpus is mentioned in the Second Epistle of Paul to Timothy 4:13: “When thou comest, bring with thee the cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, and the books, especially the parchments”.
Scripture Memory
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God”
(Heb 12:1-2).
“Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father” (Mt 10:32-33).
